Life skills

Today the Batsman helped me around the house. Together we refilled the tea canister, loaded washing into the machine and hung wet washing on the clothes horse. It was a little challenging to keep him "on task" but he was enthusiastic and smiley and loved it that he was helping me. He was learning important stuff too and the learning didn't come about by any elaborate toy or play activity. It was just me and him doing the stuff of life and while we did, he didn't even know he was learning skills for the rest of his life.
