There's so much more to this story
When I started writing this blog, my intention was that it would be a record of The Batsman’s and of our journey following his diagnosis with autism. I wanted to do it for him and for us, so we could look back and have a sense of how far we had come. Even in those days, the early days post diagnosis, I knew that the journey was going to be a long one.
The I Love You Song started off well. I blogged regularly and it felt good to be getting the chaotic thoughts out of my head. A few people read and left a comment or two which was so veryscary encouraging. About three months in, it all came to a screeching, grinding halt. I just stopped writing. There are lots of reasons for that I guess...the Batsman started a home based early intervention program which demanded much of my time and energy, the Bowler was on the move with a new found crawl (with me chasing him), and the Captain was trying very hard to survive a demanding workload and then come home to a chaotic household and try to be useful. And me? I was tired, exhausted even and struggling to just make it through each day without losing it. Blogging was a long way down the priority list. And so I let it slide. Dropped off the blogging radar. Gone. Kaput.
But there is so much more to this story and I do want to record it here. Thankfully I hadenough functioning brain cells left the presence of mind to keep a little list in my iPhone of ideas for blog posts. I tapped in dot points to remind me of the small moments that help tell the story, the hurdles, the milestones, the day to day utter chaos snapshots of life with our Batsman. Unfortunately, the little list is now very bloody long quite significant so this catching up is gonna take a while. Bear with me. There’s so much more to this story. I’m going to tell it.

Welcome back to blogging! Starting an early intervention program is all consuming, so I'm not surprised you didn't have the energy to blog for a time. I look forward to reading your future posts. xx
ReplyDeleteAlthough you haven't been blogging, you and the Batsman have often been in my thoughts and I've been wondering about how things were going.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that blogging took a tumble down your list of priorities! It sounds as though you have been really busy.
