Negotiation
The Batsman loves sultanas. I think I could almost go so far as to say he is addicted to those teeny tiny little morsels of sweet goodness. He asks for them at least 5 or 6 times a day. Or maybe even 10 times. They are his favourite "go to" food. I do however, have to limit the sultana intake just a little...too much sugar and all that. Usually when I deliver the "no more sultanas" news to the Batsman, it can end in tears (and the occasional tantrum).
But one day this week when I told the Batsman that he had reached the dried fruit limit, it was different. So very different.
Me: "No more sultanas. You have had lots. No more today."
The Batsman (smiling): "How about rice crackers?"
A negotiation. I like it. I like it a lot.
And the bowl of rice crackers went down a treat.
