The friend
It's a kinder day today.
The Batsman and I made our way to our little haven of play up the road and walked in the gate.
No sooner had the Batsman put his bag in his locker than up bounded another little boy, all smiles and enthusiasm.
"I waited for you Batsman" he exclaimed. "Come on, let's go. Let's go and ride on the bikes together".
"Ok" said the Batsman, all smiles and wide eyes.
And just like that, I was no longer needed.
A quick wave, a "See ya mum" and they were gone, hooting and laughing as helmets went on and tricycle wheels began spinning along the path.
We are two weeks in to our second year of kindergarten, our final year before the big transition to primary school. It's going well. The Batsman is settled and happy. He confidently participates in almost everything.
But an independently made friend, this early in the year? That was something I didn't expect.
Amazing. Beautiful.
Here we go.

My post this week is about exactly that! Friendship.
